We are opening a brand-new children's home in Hitchin, dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people. Our mission is to empower them to achieve their full potential while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities of the Deputy Children's Care Manager include:
* Leadership and Management: Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of our children's home. You will lead and supervise a team of care professionals, ensuring they deliver high-quality care and support.
* Safeguarding and Care: Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children and young people. Develop individual care plans tailored to the specific needs of each child whilst ensuring the home operate in line with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding policies.
* Compliance and Administration: Assist with audits, reporting, and maintaining accurate records. Support with policy development ensuring all staff are familiar with and adhere to our policies and procedures. Participate in inspections and take action on recommendations to improve standards.
* Team Development: Provide training, mentoring, and support to the care team. Conduct regular team meetings and individual supervision sessions. Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining high-quality staff.
* Operational Support: Act as the lead in the absence of the Registered Manager. Participate in an on-call rota to provide support for emergencies or out-of-hours issues. Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and professionals.

It is essential that the successful Deputy Care Manager has:
* Experience working in a children's residential care setting.
* Previous experience in a deputy or supervisory role within a children's home.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices and Ofsted regulations.
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* A commitment to promoting the rights, welfare, and development of children and young people.
