What Does a Cover Supervisor Do?
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the teacher’s absence to deliver pre‑planned lessons, maintain behaviour expectations, and keep students engaged in their learning.
No teaching qualification is required — just confidence, communication skills and a positive attitude.
You will:
* Lead classes using pre‑prepared work set by the teacher
* Manage behaviour and ensure a calm, productive learning environment
* Support students with tasks and encourage participation
* Provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of lessons
* Work across a range of subjects and year groups, building invaluable experience
