Part-Time Maths/Science Teacher - Alternative Provision (KS3/KS4) Wigan, Greater Manchester Part-Time | Term-Time Only Competitive Salary (Pro Rata, DOE)
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Maths/Science Teacher to join an alternative provision high school in Wigan. This is a part-time role supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs.
You'll deliver engaging, accessible lessons designed to re-engage learners and support both academic progress and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Maths and/or Science across KS3 and KS4
* Plan differentiated, engaging lessons for pupils with diverse needs
* Support students with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and disrupted education
* Use effective behaviour management strategies
* Track and assess pupil progress
* Contribute to EHCPs and personalised learning plans
* Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
* Work closely with support staff and pastoral teams
Requirements
* QTS/QTLS - Essential
* Experience teaching Maths and/or Science (KS3/KS4)
* Experience or strong understanding of SEMH / Alternative Provision
* Confident managing behaviour and building positive relationships
* Flexible, resilient, and proactive approach
