Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEN Support (Full-Time) Location: Ystrad Mynach Salary: £89.38 per day Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday Agency: Teaching Personnel Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child within a Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision. This is a full-time role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young person requiring additional behavioural and emotional support. About the Role: This position involves working closely with a specific pupil who presents with challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering consistent, patient, and understanding support, ensuring the pupil remains engaged and supported throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities: Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN and challenging behaviours Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour appropriately Assist in delivering structured and tailored learning under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO Encourage the pupil’s engagement, confidence, and emotional development Maintain clear communication with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals as required Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment Candidate Requirements: Proven experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly behavioural needs Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A proactive and compassionate approach to support Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through Teaching Personnel) Right to work in the UK What We Offer: Competitive daily pay of £89.38 Ongoing support and training from Teaching Personnel Opportunity to work in a supportive and professional school setting Access to CPD courses and career development resources If you are passionate about supporting children with SEN and have the experience to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
