The Opportunity
In both client facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We aim to deliver safe, high-quality, and timely solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Reporting to the Site Delivery Lead, you will support the overarching direction and leadership of activities associated with the full lifecycle delivery of the Temporary Construction Area sub-programme. You will have responsibility to lead/manage a group of Senior Project Managers and Managers, ensuring the delivery of a large scope of Earthworks, Enabling works (including UXO, ecology, archaeology), Civils, Networks, and Buildings. The role involves managing a matrix team of wider disciplines, including the nuclear new build supply chain, quality team, and suppliers.
This role will also assist the Site Delivery Lead in developing strategies for delivering scope to cost, schedule, and quality. You will ensure operational delivery of all or part of the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities in accordance with the overall project schedule.
Key responsibilities will be:
* Define the work scope and interfaces within contracts or work packages.
* Secure resources, maintain SQEP, and address personnel shortfalls.
* Provide direction to ensure effective execution in line with the Programme Execution Plan.
* Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and execute project strategies.
* Drive contract or package activities to ensure safety, timeliness, budget adherence, and technical compliance.
* Monitor progress, manage risks, and develop updates to the programme and budget.
* Ensure schedule development and maintenance within the overall project timeline.
* Ensure delivery of the List of Deliverables (LOD).
* Apply continuous improvement principles and capture lessons learned.
* Interface with other programmes for high-level project progress and best practices.
* Fulfill contractual requirements and maintain effective relationships with project team members.
Qualifications
* Proven experience delivering projects in complex, regulated environments, preferably nuclear.
* Stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong management skills: project, financial, change management, facilitation.
* Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools.
* Experience managing contractors, consultants, and advisors on large projects, including NEC and FIDIC contracts.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and organizational skills.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Detailed understanding of EPR design and experience.
* Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or related field.
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
* Experience with Project Management methodologies like APM and Prince2.
* Experience managing projects from concept to handover.
