GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Enfield. Responsibilities of the SEN TA:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning.
* Assist the teacher in delivering tailored lessons that meet individual learning and emotional needs.
* Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioural regulation strategies.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring students feel safe and supported.
* Assist with classroom management, implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
* Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
Requirements for the SEN TA:
* Experience working with SEMH students in an educational or care setting.
* A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Understanding of de-escalation strategies and behaviour management techniques.
* Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable but not essential).
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
