CMA Recruitment is supporting our Sherborne, Dorset client who is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping and supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end processes across multiple businesses within the group.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?
1. Day-to-day bookkeeping duties.
2. Supporting the preparation of budgets, including analysis of actuals versus budget.
3. Assisting in management accounts preparation in a timely and accurate manner.
4. Production of statutory accounts with supporting year-end files.
5. Quarterly forecasting including analysis of actuals.
6. VAT returns.
7. Administering payment runs.
Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant opportunity:
1. Ideally working towards your AAT qualification or equivalent.
2. Previous experience with VAT and general tax calculations.
3. Experience in practice or estate management sectors is beneficial but not essential.
4. Flexible, willing to learn, and able to take on additional responsibilities as required.
