Job Details

This role is based within Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and is a full-time position working 36 hours per week.

You will earn a competitive salary of £34,914.86 to £43,437.09 pro rata and have access to a range of benefits including local and national discounts for supermarkets, restaurants, and retail.

An exciting opportunity to join the Collaboration and Productivity Solutions (CaPS) Competency Centre in BTS, and work with Microsoft technologies to deliver savings and efficiencies across the Council.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions that harness the full potential of Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, streamline workflows, and create custom applications that enhance efficiency and decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:-

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into effective Power BI reporting and analytics solutions.

2. Lead the design, development, and implementation of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models, ensuring they deliver clear, actionable insights.

3. Integrate Power BI with existing data sources and systems, ensuring reliable data pipelines, accuracy, and consistency across reporting solutions.

4. Implement and maintain data governance, security, and access controls within Power BI, including dataset management, workspace governance, and compliance with organisational policies.

5. Provide support and guidance to end-users to enable effective adoption and use of Power BI reports and self-service analytics capabilities.

6. Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features, updates, and best practices, and assess their applicability to improve existing solutions.

7. Drive continuous improvement of Power BI reporting and analytics solutions based on user feedback, performance monitoring, and evolving business needs. 

The Person

Educated to SCQF level 7 which includes HNC or Advanced Highers or equivalent vocational accreditation in a computing / systems or related discipline or equivalent experience

Experience in the design and use of IT solutions and tools that meet business needs.

Ability to translate logical designs into physical solutions.

Experience in the production of clear and detailed documentation for customers and colleagues.

Requires the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and work independently as needed, depending on the nature of the tasks.

Demonstrate a commitment to fostering continuous learning, staying abreast of the latest features, and adhering to best practices within the Power Platform.
