Job Summary
The Radiotherapy Assistant role at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust supports the Radiotherapy Service by providing high‑standard administrative support and patient‑focused care. The successful candidate will work within the 8.00am‑6.00pm shift window, Monday to Friday, and may be required to adjust hours to meet service needs.
Main Duties
* Provide a high standard of administrative support to the Radiotherapy Service.
* Book patients through the radiotherapy pathway in accordance with local protocol.
* Transport patients to and from wards and departments while ensuring safety and comfort.
* Liaise daily with radiographers, nursing staff, clerical personnel, consultant clinicians and chemotherapy schedulers.
* Collect patient prescriptions from the pharmacy as required.
* Perform patient movement and transfer, following manual‑handling policies.
* Care for patients during treatment or examination, including assistance with changing and basic hygiene needs.
* Act as a chaperone or supporter for patients.
* Maintain and update information in computer systems and keep an accurate database of patients on the radiotherapy pathway.

* GCSE in English and Maths, grade 9‑4 (A* to C) or equivalent.
* IT literacy.

* Experience working with the public.
* Experience with a variety of software systems.

* Knowledge of NHS systems.
