Staff Nurse (Band 5)

Are you a compassionate and motivated nurse looking to make a real difference in the lives of older adults? We are seeking dedicated Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team caring for clinically optimised elderly patients awaiting discharge to home or placement. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a supportive environment focused on person‑centred care in this speciality. Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills.
All new staff receive an induction period, a buddy nurse and the opportunity to join our Clinical Supervision programme.
Responsibilities
* Manage a group of patients and occasionally take charge of the ward/department and its resources during your shift.
* Maintain high standards of patient care and ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Provide support and supervision to junior staff.
* Maintain accurate, current, comprehensive and concise records in accordance with NMC standards and the UHBs Patient Record Policy.
* Liaise with Clinical Specialists (Doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Nurse Specialists) regarding individual patient requirements and planned programmes of care.
Welsh Skills – Desirable
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. While fluency is not essential, speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above will be considered an advantage during short‑listing and selection.

Shift Patterns
Our primary shift is a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30‑minute or two 30‑minute unpaid breaks. These patterns are subject to review, and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements.
