What You Will Do
The Toxicologist/Safety Assessor is responsible for providing safety support for our global iconic skin care brands for everyday care in EMEA region. You will be responsible for pre-clinical safety support. Responsibilities include partnering with global toxicology leads and Toxicology Research Center (TRC) for those needs’ states for development and implementation of pre-clinical safety strategies as well as active participation with our product development team to ensure that all products meet the highest safety standards and meet the R&D business needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain ingredient toxicology profile.
2. Acting as a safety DRI (directly responsible individual) for specific adult (mainly) & baby skin care products and support for other brands.
3. Toxicological and safety risk assessment of finished products to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
4. Monitoring post market data related to safety through cosmeto-vigilance program.
5. Preparation of Cosmetic Safety Assessment (CPSR) written in collaboration with TRC.
6. Provide guidance and support to product development teams through safety assessment to support potential production issues, OOS (out of specification) NGO/Consumers issues or queries, and EMEA Regulatory Affairs and Product Stewardship in case of investigations.
7. Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.
8. Defence as well as external representations for J&J at trade associations including Cosmetic Europe and ICCS (International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety).
9. Transverse projects with Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, Product Stewardship, OCMS and other departments for alignment and simplification.
10. Contribution with the Global Toxicology team to establish global strategy
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
Required
11. PhD, Pharmacist (PharmD) or equivalent (post-graduate qualification in toxicology)
12. Total experience 5-7 years
13. Minimum 2 years of experience in consumer industry
14. Strong knowledge in toxicology
15. Knowledge in clinical safety and NAMs (New Approach methodologies).
Desired
16. Knowledge of the EMEA regulatory environment in cosmetic sector
17. Certifications/Licenses: ERT Certification – Eurotox (i.e. European Registered Toxicologist) is desirable.
