What you’ll be doing as an Assistant Manager at McDonald’s, working in a fast-paced, high-performing team focused on delivering great guest experiences and leading from the front.
Responsibilities
* Support performance against KPIs (sales, profit, customer satisfaction)
* Use reports to drive action plans
* Help manage stock, labour costs, and rotas
* Understand and influence monthly P&L
* Lead and motivate a diverse team
* Deliver exceptional shift operations
* Coach and develop team members and shift managers
* Be hands-on during peak times
* Ensure great guest experiences, every time
* Handle complaints with care and professionalism
* Drive a customer-first mindset across the team
* Maintain food hygiene and safety standards
* Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and inspection-ready
* Champion regular 1-2-1s and coaching sessions
* Lead from the front on training and values
* Grow confident, capable team leaders
* Progression to roles such as First Assistant Manager and Business Manager
Qualifications
* 2+ years in management or fast-paced hospitality/retail
* Flexible availability (shifts, evenings, weekends)
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Passion for developing others
* A high level of integrity and commitment

Pay, Benefits & Progression
* £32,000 - £39,200 total earning potential
* Up to 6 weeks’ paid holiday

Pay Structure and Roles
* Pay progression by role: Second Assistant Manager (£32,000 base + up to £7,200 KPI bonus), First Assistant Manager (£34,500 base + up to £9,300 + up to £9,300 KPI bonus)
* Progression between roles typically every 12–18 months
* Next step: Business Manager
What to Expect in the Interview
* Two-stage interview designed to ensure mutual fit
* Stage 1: Interview + tour with Learning & Development Manager
* Stage 2: Shoulder-to-shoulder session on the shop floor with a current Shift Manager and final interview with the Restaurant Owner
