Overview
Are you a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker, looking for an opportunity to work within community mental health services?
Roles and Opportunities
We have a range of opportunities for both experienced band 5 practitioners and newly qualified band 5s. This post is open to newly qualified social workers. In line with AWP trust policy all newly qualified social workers (NQSW) will be recruited initially at Band 5 level, regardless of advertised role banding. All NQSW’s are expected to successfully complete their ASYE within 2 years of employment, unless there are exceptional circumstances in which case it may be extended for a further 2 years.
Team and Approach
Within Sarum Community Mental Health Team, we believe that supporting colleagues to meet their maximum potential is essential to providing great care. We are a multidisciplinary team consisting of a talented pool of both registered and non-registered mental health professionals. We have moved away from the use of care programme approach (CPA) and now work with service users and carers under the “your team, your conversation, you plan approach”, which is a strength based, intervention lead model of care, that supports the individual to address their own identified needs. We support the conversation through the use of a personal well‑being and safety plan, as well the use of patient related outcome measures (dialogue +).
Coverage
We are the lead provider of healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We aim to provide High Quality, Compassionate Care everywhere, every day. This means our services will be safe, clinically effective and provide a positive all round experience for our patients, families and carers. And we believe passionately in treating everyone with kindness, respect and empathy.
Values and Commitment
Key to this is providing a supportive and safe environment for our 4,000 staff where we all feel welcome and able to do the best we can for those we support. Our staff and teams work incredibly hard delivering services across more than 90 locations, covering 2,200 miles, to more than 1.8 million people. At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds; we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.
