Warehouse Supervisor
Menzies Distribution has an excellent opportunity for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team based in Portsmouth.
Oversee the unloading, packing, and safe handling of products in the warehouse, ensuring customer requirements are met and a safe working environment is maintained in compliance with health and safety regulations. Manage staff, delivery vehicle departures, returns processing, and KPIs.
THE DETAILS:
* Shift Pattern: Thursday - Monday
* Hours: 03:00am - 12:00pm
* Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (Depending on experience)
* Location: Unit 1, Solent 27, Walton Road, Portsmouth, PO6 1SX
Key Responsibilities:
* People Management:
o Plan staffing needs, manage rotas, and conduct inductions and training.
o Address conduct issues and manage absence and lateness.
o Handle disciplinary procedures, return-to-work interviews, and payroll paperwork.
* Health & Safety:
o Ensure staff complete necessary safety training and maintain clean, safe work areas.
o Identify any risk assessments and training needs.
* Process:
o Drive productivity and cost reductions based on KPIs.
o Motivate the team to meet deadlines, quality standards, and productivity targets.
o Ensure a tidy and safe working environment.
* Communication:
o Conduct team briefings and engage with management on staff matters.
o Communicate policies, procedures, and health and safety information effectively.
Key Skills & Competencies:
* Strong leadership and team management with the ability to meet operational objectives.
* Experience with shift management and rota planning.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Competent with Microsoft Office and in-house programs (SAP/Power BI knowledge is a plus).
* Problem-solving skills and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
* Flexibility to work across different shifts and teams in a 7-day operation.
* Knowledge of warehouse health and safety practices.
WHAT YOU NEED:
* Full UK driving Licence beneficial but not essential (No more than 6 points)
* FLT / PPT licence beneficial but not essential
* No previous disqualifications NI, DD or DR
* Hardworking, positive and a flexible attitude to work
* Knowledge of all Transport Legislation
* Good PC skills
