An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the UCLH Blood Transfusion at Home team, providing blood transfusions and care for suitable patients in the community. We seek a driven, enthusiastic, and innovative individual with extensive interest to learn and develop their blood transfusion skills in a community setting.
Main duties of the job
Central to this role is close collaboration with the UCLH Hospital@Home team, Ward MDT’s and Hospital@Home case finders. Clinical duties include identifying suitable patients for the Blood Transfusion at Home Service and coordinating with external services to ensure that community blood transfusions are arranged and completed on time. This role involves supporting the UCLH Blood Transfusion at Home team in managing patients within the service and working closely with specialty consultants. The senior staff nurse will also act as Deputy to the BT@Home Charge Nurse, supporting leadership responsibilities and ensuring continuity of care in their absence.
This is a fixed term contract for 10 months and requires a Monday to Friday working commitment.
