Mills & Reeve has an excellent opportunity to join as a Business Continuity Manager, primarily based in our Birmingham or Cambridge office. This newly created role offers the chance to work with a wide range of stakeholders across a Top 40 Regional Law Firm.
The role
Mills & Reeve is dedicated to ensuring the resilience and stability of business operations by safeguarding the Firm against disruptions and maintaining high service standards. We are recruiting a Business Continuity Manager to ensure that the Firm's critical operations can continue or quickly resume after disruptions.
As part of our ongoing efforts to obtain ISO 22301 certification, the Business Continuity Manager will play a central role in maintaining and improving our Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
The person
Ideal candidates will have:
* Proven experience in Business Continuity Planning, risk management, or a similar role
* Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and solution development
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
* Relevant certifications such as CBCP or ISO 22301 Lead Implementer are advantageous
The activities
* Managing daily BCMS operations, including strategy and solutions planning
* Ensuring BCMS compliance with organizational policies and ISO 22301:2019 standards
* Maintaining compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards related to business continuity and disaster recovery
* Reviewing and testing business impact analyses, risk assessments, and BC plans regularly
* Updating and reviewing BCMS documentation to ensure compliance and accessibility
* Facilitating BCMS evaluations, testing, and continuous improvement
* Leading incident response activities and conducting mock incident exercises
* Establishing communication protocols during disruptions and conducting post-incident reviews
* Developing and delivering staff training on business continuity
* Coordinating with other teams and maintaining detailed incident records and reports
