We're looking for someone with a broad technical background (a strong 'generalist') who has proven working knowledge across Cisco, VMware and Microsoft product sets. They must have solid grounding in designing and building datacentre (Cloud and On-premises) infrastructure including Networking, Storage and Security elements.
They must have a proven track record of working within the pre-sales cycle, have experience with customer facing meetings, presenting technical designs and assisting account managers to help close deals.
We are looking for someone who can assist with a significantly growing customer base in the Southeast of England and travel to head office in Alcester will be required to maintain relationships within the wider business, frequency to be agreed.
Day to day responsibilities
With this role you will be required to be involved in the development of enterprise datacentre opportunities within our direct sales and channel partner network. This will include implementation of solutions you've designed in collaboration with the wider consultancy team.
* Provide detailed commercial and technical analysis, to help customers understand why a solution best fits their business.
* Provide a point of communication between the client and account managers for Simplify IT and its wider channel partner network.
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge other products or services we and our channel partners sell.
* Work as part of a team or individually to design, implement and consult around our product set.
* Be a core part of a team who are responsible for managing and delivering the pre-sales queues.
Must have skills
* Leadership experience.
* Be able to be self-sufficient in building proof of concept systems to qualify pre-sales or post sales delivery of solutions.
* Being able to work independently and part of a wider team. Knowledge and skill sharing is a core part of the work culture at Simplify IT.
* Strong background in design and delivery of networking solutions to CCNP level, including software defined solutions that leverage VXLAN, GENEVE etc.
* Cisco Nexus or Catalyst solution design and delivery experience.
* Ability to lead conversations around Aruba, HPe, Extreme, Juniper, and other networking technology vendors.
* Firm understanding of carrier design and its integration with enterprise networks.
* Strong background in storage (SAN / NAS) and Compute services.
* Strong experience in the full stack of Microsoft operating system and application technologies.
* Experience with automation or orchestration tools (API, Swagger, Postman, Ansible etc) and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash etc.
* Excellent communication and capable of presenting to all levels within the organisations we work with.
Advantageous skills
Other skill sets that are considered useful are:
* NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE) or Equivalent within another storage vendor.
* VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
* VMware Network Virtualisation (NCP-NV).
* Linux deployment and administration experience.
* Azure programmatic provisioning experience (e.g. Terraform) and certification, including experience of hybrid infrastructure migrations.
NetApp, Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware training can be given where required/appropriate as part of your career development plan.
