Permanent - Hours negotiable from 22 to 25 hours We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced respiratory nurse/s to join our highly motivated team of Respiratory Nurse Specialists. The core function of the respiratory nurse specialist team is to facilitate early supported discharge, follow-up patients at home thus reducing length of stay. The team also manages the home oxygen service for all respiratory patients across Fife. The Respiratory Nurse Specialist team delivers a wide range of other services including: • General respiratory clinic reviews • ILD support clinic/ service • Difficult to treat asthma clinic/biologic treatment clinics • Long-term oxygen assessments - both inpatient and outpatient • Trial nebulised antibiotic dosing for patients with complex respiratory infection • Adhoc reviews for admission avoidance (at patients homes and in ward attender clinics) • Support for acute NIV/CPAP • Outpatient/inpatient sleep studies • Initiation and management of domiciliary NIV/CPAP via Airview home monitoring programme • IPC drain management • Empyema drain management • Staff education The service is currently undergoing some further development and redesign. Due to the breadth of service provision the team delivers the ideal candidate/s will need to have extensive respiratory experience including recent acute experience and be motivated with a passion for delivering high quality respiratory care and keen to develop. Full driving license and access to a car is also essential. Weekend working is also required as part of the role.
