Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in the Bristol area. As a Night Care Assistant, you will play an essential role in providing high-quality care and support to residents throughout the night, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. Your focus will be on delivering person-centred care, assisting with nightly routines, and responding to any needs promptly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Support residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care during the night as required.
* Assist residents with mobility, including transferring and repositioning in bed to prevent pressure sores.
* Monitor and respond to residents’ needs promptly and respectfully throughout the night.
* Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents who may feel anxious, disoriented, or have difficulty sleeping.
* Carry out regular checks on residents as per individual care plans and document observations accurately.
* Administer medication if trained and authorized, following correct protocols.
* Assist with preparing light snacks or drinks during the night, ensuring dietary needs are met.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in residents’ rooms and communal areas during night hours.
* Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control guidelines.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a care or support role preferred, but full training will be provided.
* NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (desirable).
* Compassionate, patient, and able to work under minimal supervision.
* Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
* Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays if required.
* Right to work in the UK.
