We are looking for a HSEQ Manager to join our Group of companies.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the People Director, the HSEQ Manager will be responsible for creating and developing a positive and proactive Health, Safety, Environment and Quality culture throughout the Group of NIO Comm Companies.
The key duty of this role is to improve Health, Safety, Environment and Quality within the NIO Group, ensuring that all the businesses within and its business partners strive to maintain the highest standards in the HSEQ arena. This will be a demanding, hands-on position and will suit a person who has a passion to make a difference in a fast-growing group of companies.
The Health and Safety manager will oversee and drive safety standards across our diverse infrastructure projects including telecommunications civil engineering works fibre broadband installations and electrical systems and services.
Job Responsibilities:
* Create, develop, and maintain a HSEQ management system encompassing current legislation, associated registers, policies, standards, practices, and relevant documentation
* Provide Legislative, regulation and general advice to the People Director on all matters relating to HSEQ
* Ensuring that the Company is proactive, up to date and complies with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
* Identify areas of risk and develop measures to reduce and control
* Onboarding of Sub-Contractors and conduct compliance audits with sub-contractors and create improvement plans
* Measure and report KPI’s as outlined in company/personal objectives
* Complete weekly/monthly management reports for submission to the company(s) Director
* Record and direct accident investigations
* Review all accidents/incidents to establish the root causes, present conclusions to the Board and preventative measures required
* Increasing Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality awareness to Managers and employees with training techniques and coaching sessions including toolbox talks and Health, Safety and Environmental inductions
* Carrying out internal audits of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality processes measuring performance
* Carrying out risk assessments ensuring that all documentation and method statements are up to date
* Representing and promoting the organisation's safety performance to third parties (e.g., clients and the Health and Safety Executive)
* Liaise with registration bodies, clients, and sub-contractors as necessary to resolve problems
Knowledge and Skills:
* Experience and knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation, including CDM as related to utilities Electricity at work Regulations and industry best practices
* Proven ability to create and develop a fit for purpose and documented HSEQ Management System
* Ability to deliver results through clearly defined objectives
* Proven team leader with the ability to engage at all levels of the company
* Analytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations
* Analyse data and provide comprehensive reports, recommendations, and where required improvement plans
* Experience creating and implementing RAMS
* Set own high-quality standards
* High standard of written English and good communication skills, including professional telephone manner and strong presentation and report writing skill
* Experience and knowledge of Quality Standards such ISO9001, ISO14001
Education and Qualifications:
* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
* Proven experience in a health and safety role within telecoms, civil's utilities including electric and fibre infrastructure
* Full understanding of utility works and associated hazards e.g. Street works confined spaces, live services
* ability to work across multiple sites and projects with minimal supervision
* Full UK driving licence
* First Aid at work
Desirable Qualifications:
* TechIOSH
* SMSTS or SSSTS certification
Our head office is rurally located and you will need to visit sites around the South frequently, therefore a car is essential.
