Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a BIM Engineer to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8. This role is for a BIM Engineer (Non-Infra) to support and enhance our project delivery team.
What will you be doing as our new BIM Engineer (Non-Infra)?
You will be responsible for developing intelligent, advanced design 3D models to industry standards for construction, using applications such as Civil3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Recap. You will be part of one of the most successful, award-winning, and progressive water sector capital delivery alliances developing Site Layout Drawings, Long-Section Drawings, Route Layout Drawings, Cross-Section Drawings, Temporary Works Designs, 3D Standard Details, and 2D Standard Details. You will participate in Design Reviews and coordinate with BIM Engineers across the programme, creating and amending models based on design team instructions.
Responsibilities
* Understand and use specifications, installation details, supplier details, and datasheets for various pipe types and applications.
* Verify that connection details comply with industry standards and WIMES.
* Model pipe and duct routes, as directed by the design engineer.
* Integrate health and safety considerations into all design processes, ensuring safe and maintainable systems.
* Ensure work is carried out in accordance with agreed timescales and effort; advise the Technical Manager of any deviation as soon as it occurs.
* Ensure alignment with Alliance data management and BIM procedures, meeting required data and model maturity levels.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating feedback and industry best practices into the BIM model.
* Work closely with other SPA disciplines to ensure the project objectives are met.
* Participate in regular project and discipline team meetings.
Skills, Experience and Behaviours
* Proven proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Recap software; preferably with experience in both mechanical and civil disciplines.
* An engineering diploma, degree, or equivalent (preferable) and working towards professional status with a relevant institution.
* The ability to generate and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
* Awareness of the latest relevant standards affecting engineering delivery (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 19650, PAS 1192).
