Overview
The Councils Building Control team delivers the statutory Building Control functions and handles the majority of building regulations applications in the borough. Following the Grenfell Enquiry and the Building Safety Act, the Building Control sector has undergone significant change. Bexley is focused on an ambitious service improvement plan with ongoing investment to enhance professional standards and customer service.
Responsibilities
* Recruit two registered building inspectors to undertake restricted functions and restricted activities appropriate to their level of competency, plus other building control related activities as required.
* Provide supervision for activities outside current competency levels to support continuing professional development.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with key internal and external partners and offer excellent customer service.
Candidate Profile / Qualifications
* Existing building control experience and a desire to develop their career in an ambitious local authority.
* Preferred achievement of Class 2 competency to at least categories A to D.
* Membership of the multi-disciplinary team that deals with all aspects of the building control function.
