Role Purpose: The role of the Academy Lead GK Coach is to create a high-performance environment and culture that maximises the potential of the Academy Goalkeepers and staff that produces results, with a clear objective to provide goalkeepers the ability to reach the senior professional game through their development within the Academy and build for the future. The ideal candidate will have a high interest in the women’s game, the development of youth players and a track record of successful player development. You will have experience of coaching 10–18-year-olds within a high-performance environment. You will have an approach to coaching underpinned by modern theories of training, preferably Skill Acquisition and teaching theories. You will be able to lead players and staff, facilitate group sessions both on and off pitch. Finally, you will be very comfortable reviewing and editing video to provide feedback for staff and players. Main Duties/ Responsibilities 1. Lead GK Coach of the U21 PGA Team 2. Lead the all-Academy Goalkeepers and Goalkeeper Coaching staff to help maintain the highest possible standards, following the LCL coaching philosophy, and providing mentorship for the staff to ensure their development. 3. Lead performance reviews for all goalkeepers including a formal report of conclusions and actions and deliver feedback to players in line with Academy protocols and expectations. 4. Plan, execute and evaluate all U21 goalkeeping coaching sessions. 5. Develop strong working relationships with lead coaching staff in the design and delivery of coaching and games programme for goalkeeper specific throughout the academy. 6. Attend all inhouse CPD events plus guided FA CPD events under license requirement 7. Take responsibility for Goalkeepers IDP’s, ensuring IDPs are stored on the club drive and updated a minimum of 3x per season. 8. Providing support to the exit/release procedure of Academy goalkeepers in the most effective manner and in line with any WSL PGA requirements 9. Ad hoc duties required by the academy manager/ Senior Management Team to meet needs of the business Club Accountabilities 1.To comply with all Club policies, procedures and practices and carry out your role diligently and in the best interests of the Club 2.
