Band five nursing position on Cardiac and Thoracic Critical Care Unit (CTCCU)

CTCCU are looking for enthusiastic, motivated nurses to join our dynamic team. CTCCU is a bedded unit providing level two and three care to patients following cardiac, major aortic and thoracic surgery, and to those with acute cardiac medical conditions. CTCCU is a challenging, exciting and supportive environment which will facilitate the ongoing advancement of your specialist critical care skills. There are opportunities to develop skills in invasive and non-invasive modes of ventilation and weaning, the use of ventricular assist devices, cardiac output monitoring and haemofiltration. Additionally, acute arrhythmia management advanced ECG interpretation and management of IABP therapy.
Additionally we will consider applications from newly qualified nurses. Part time positions are available, and all flexible working patterns will be considered.
All successful candidates will have a supernumerary period with support from a mentor and a comprehensive competency based development package. The post offers the scope for professional and personal development and on-going education within the field of both cardiac and thoracic nursing.
Main duties of the job
Working in this critical care environment you will be looking after patients on a : and : ratio post elective and emergency cardiac and thoracic surgery.

Ventilation management
Management of specialised cardiac medications
Chest drain management
Renal replacement therapy
Managing post-operative pain
Sedation management
