Responsibilities and duties of the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer role Reporting to the Engineering and Design Director you will: Lead mechanical design and engineering efforts across RIBA Stages 2-4, and provide technical oversight through project delivery phases (RIBA 5-7). Design and integrate low-carbon mechanical systems such as heat pumps, HVAC, BMS, and district heating solutions. Ensure regulatory and standards compliance, including CIBSE, PAS 2035, MCS, and UK Building Regulations. Lead BIM and CAD coordination to ensure effective integration with multidisciplinary teams. Develop and refine energy performance modelling tools for mechanical systems analysis and optimisation.
