About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Internal Sales Executive / Sales Development Representative to join a growing sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early career B2B sales experience who wants to develop their skills and progress into a field-based role in the future.
The role is a mix of managing incoming customer orders and driving new business through proactive outreach. You will be given the support, tools, and training to build your career while playing a key part in the company's growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Process incoming orders received by phone and email, ensuring accuracy in the CRM system.
* Proactively generate new business through outbound calls, LinkedIn outreach, and email campaigns.
* Reconnect with lapsed customers and identify new sales opportunities.
* Engage with existing customers to explore upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
* Maintain accurate pipeline records and activity tracking in the CRM.
* Collaborate with colleagues in sales and marketing to drive growth initiatives.
About You
* 1–3 years of B2B sales or customer-facing experience (not B2C).
* Confident in cold calling and building relationships with new prospects.
* Strong organisational skills and experience using CRM systems.
* Resilient, results-driven, and eager to learn.
* Based within commuting distance of Chelmsford and able to work in the office 4 days per week.
* Willing to develop into a field sales role in the future (a driving licence will be needed at that stage).
* Knowledge of food manufacturing or selling into manufacturing is an advantage but not essential.
