Paddle UK represents a vibrant community of over 75,000 members—40% female with more than 50,000 engaged in the rapidly growing sport of stand up paddleboarding. Their purpose is clear: to inspire people to pursue a passion for paddling; for health, enjoyment, friendship, challenge, and achievement. With funding from UK Sport and Sport England, alongside revenue from membership, qualifications and partnerships, Paddle UK is entering an exciting phase of transformation strengthening visibility, expanding participation, and elevating commercial performance across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Team, the Director of Commercial Revenue will have responsibility for a newly created mission-critical function responsible for reshaping Paddle UK’s commercial future. You will design and deliver a bold, insight-led commercial strategy that transforms revenue-generation, strengthens brand presence, and deepens engagement across recreational, club and elite paddlers. This role offers the rare opportunity to build a modern commercial ecosystem from the ground up, defining Paddle UK’s value proposition, strengthening the brand, maximising membership value, and developing exciting new partnerships, products, and commercial programmes. You will drive independent revenue growth of an additional £750k–£1m annually within three years, underpinned by strong data, innovative thinking, and customer understanding. Key responsibilities include:
•Develop and implement a forward-looking commercial strategy aligned to Paddle UK’s long-term ambitions.
•Manage and integrate revenue-related functions including partnerships, membership, marketing, communications, and customer services.
•Identify and unlock new revenue streams across products, services, digital assets, events, and licensing.
•Build a distinctive, resonant Paddle UK brand that enhances visibility and relevance across the paddling community and wider public.
•Personally manage high-value commercial partnerships from prospecting through to negotiation and deal closure.
•Strengthen the membership offer through insight, improved customer experience, and reduced churn.
•Introduce modern data systems, CRM tools, and dashboards to inform decision-making and track commercial performance.
•Develop and empower a high-performing commercial team and contribute to organisational strategy as part of the Executive Team.
We are seeking an exceptional commercial leader with a proven track record of delivering revenue growth, building, or transforming commercial functions, and securing complex partnerships. You will bring strong experience across brand development, customer segmentation, data-driven marketing, and revenue operations balancing strategic vision with first-hand execution. Bold, creative, and commercially experienced, you will be energised by the opportunity to shape a commercial function while working collaboratively across a values-led organisation. Experience in membership models, purpose-driven environments or the sports sector is advantageous but not essential.
