PDI TECHNICIAN / SMART REPAIR TECHNICIAN (COMBINED ROLE)
PDI Technician / SMART Repair Technician (Combined Role) Details:
Basic Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 DOE
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7am - 3.30pm (40 hours a week)
Location: Manchester
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for a PDI Technician / SMART Repair Technician, where the successful candidate will predominantly carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), alongside completing high-quality SMART repairs when required.
This role is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in preparation, quality, and attention to detail, working within a fast-paced dealership/Bodyshop environment and ensuring vehicles are ready for handover to the highest manufacturer standards.
Primary Responsibilities - PDI Technician
·Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections on new, used, and fleet vehicles
·Perform a variety of service, maintenance, and repair operations
·Complete defined assembly and preparation work efficiently and accurately
·Ensure all work complies with manufacturer and safety standards
·Accurately document all servicing and inspection work completed
·Maintain high levels of quality, productivity, and efficiency
·Provide technical feedback and professional support when required
Secondary Responsibilities - SMART Repair Technician
·Carry out SMART repairs including warranty work, transit damage, and used car cosmetic repairs
·Use factory-approved products and modern repair techniques
·Ensure all SMART repairs meet high-quality finish standards
·Work collaboratively with the wider workshop and bodyshop team
Skills & Qualifications
·NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent: NVQ / VCQ / SVQ / ATA)
·Previous experience as a PDI Technician, Vehicle Technician, or SMART Repairer
·Strong mechanical and cosmetic repair knowledge
·Ability to produce high-quality SMART repairs from start to finish
·ATA qualification desirable but not essential
·Must own tools and toolbox
·Full manual UK Driving Licence (licence checks required)
·Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
·A reliable, team-focused approach with strong attention to detail
