Test Engineer - Clean Energy

You will work within a dynamic team focused on delivering high-efficiency green hydrogen solutions to decarbonize key industries such as steelmaking and future fuels.
About the Role: As a Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and testing of our solid oxide technologies. Your responsibilities will include executing test plans, ensuring quality data production, and supporting the design of test stands in collaboration with the Test Capability and Strategy teams. You will work to ensure testing is rigorous, safe, and in line with company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute test plans for fuel cell and electrolyser technologies, ensuring the production of auditable data in compliance with quality processes.
* Set up and prepare test stands and platforms for testing, including the installation of test pieces.
* Review, analyze, and report on test data, presenting findings and recommendations.
* Provide regular updates to test management and support fault finding and investigation.
* Contribute to improvement projects and create technical documents such as work instructions, standard operating procedures, and risk assessments.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
* Assist in the design and development of test stands with the Test Capability team.
* Work closely with the Test Strategy team to develop and refine test plans.
Qualifications and Skills:
* BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
* Strong ability to visualize, analyze, and summarize data, including performing basic thermodynamic calculations (e.g., efficiency, heat balances).
* Proficient in reading and producing technical documents such as mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
* Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to present results clearly to colleagues and management.
* Quick to grasp new concepts and develop a strong understanding of the company’s products and operations.
* Highly motivated, delivery-focused, and able to handle multiple priorities both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in producing risk assessments and safety tools such as HAZID, HAZOP, and FMEA.
