Our client, a well-established and highly respected steel fabrication business based in Peterborough, is looking to recruit a Contracts Co-Ordinator to join their growing commercial team. With nearly 25 years of industry expertise, they specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of structural steel and sheet metal solutions across a wide range of sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with experience in steelwork, construction, project coordination, estimating, quantity surveying or contract administration who is looking to develop your career within a successful and supportive organisation.
The Role
Working closely with Contracts Managers and the wider commercial team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of steelwork projects from enquiry through to completion.
Duties will include:
* Procuring materials and negotiating costs for steelwork packages
* Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Coordinating subcontract requirements, scheduling and order placement
* Liaising with Contracts Managers to ensure project requirements are met
* Assisting with the preparation and management of tender enquiries
* Supporting the day-to-day delivery of projects, including labour, subcontractors and logistics
* Monitoring project scope, schedules and costs
* Maintaining contract documentation and records
* Producing monthly contract updates and applications
* Assisting with client proposals and tender submissions
* Maintaining project documentation, estimate logs and cost databases
* Providing project support across the commercial team as required
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within steelwork, construction, project management, estimating, quantity surveying or a similar commercial environment.
You will also have:
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A proactive and ambitious approach to learning and development
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Project
* An understanding of project controls, commercial processes and contract management
Graduates with relevant qualifications in Contracts Management, Project Management or Construction Management are also encouraged to apply.
