The Deputy Chief Nurse holds a pivotal rolewithin the MMP nursing and healthcare team, acting as a key support to theChief Nursing Officer while providing leadership and guidance to health care staff.Responsibilities include supervising employees, maintaining high standards ofpatient care, and ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols.
The Deputy Chief Nurse serves as a vital linkbetween nursing staff and MMP management, facilitating effective communicationand collaboration. They are responsible for implementing clinical guidelines,conducting risk assessments, and ensuring organizational policies are upheld inline with directives from senior management.
The Deputy Chief Nursing Officer deputises forthe Chief Nursing Officer at a senior level when required, assuming leadershipresponsibilities and representing nursing interests within the organisation.This includes line management of the nursing team, overseeing key performance indicators,and clinical targets.

Clinical

Complete SiteHealth Checks as and when required and ensure they are conducted inaccordance with MMP Policies.
Act asInfection Prevention Control Lead for the organisation.
Ensure ColdChain Policy and Procedure is adhered to by all MMP nursing staff and sites.
Ensure thatEmergency trolley and Emergency Drug procedures are adhered to by all MMP staffand sites.
Ensure that weeklycleaning schedules are adhered to MMP staff and sites.
Undertake andmanage the Clinical Supervision for MMP Nurses, HCAs and HCT team as agreedwith Chief Nursing Officer.
Mentor NewlyQualified Nurses, Nurse new to General Practice and Nursing Associatesthrough a comprehensive MMP preceptorship year.
Act as a mentorfor General Practice Nurses providing support as and when required.
Act as a mentorHCAs providing support as and when required.
Act as mentorHCTs providing support as and when required.
Ensure regularcommunication within the Lead Nurse Team. Attend Lead Nurse Team meetings.
Act as Deputy Chairfor MMP Nursing team meetings.
Support withrecruitment new MMP nursing team staff, including scoring of applications andinterviewing.
Ensure robust PGDsand PSDs process at all sites as directed by Chief Nursing offer and ClinicalGovernance team.
Deputise forthe Chief Nursing Officer when necessary, this includes leadershipresponsibilities, representing nursing interests at a senior level within theorganisation and supporting the performance of clinical teams.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse ( Diploma or Degree Level)
Experience
* Extensive experience in General Practice setting.Experience of leadership within a General Practice setting.
* Post registration Qualification and experience in chronic disease areas.
* Completed Supervisor and Assessor training.
* Competent in all General Practice Nurse duties.
