Main purpose of the role The main purpose of the Senior Planning Manager is to support the Land and Partnerships Director in the delivery of the regional business plan and land acquisition strategy for the region ensuring focus on planning strategy and delivery in accordance with the pre-development programme and enabling start on sites in line with Cap Ex forecasts and budgets. The successful candidate will work to pro-actively source, manage and progress land and partnership opportunities for the Regional Business to facilitate delivery of the Regional growth plans. The Senior Planning Manager will be the key point of contact and take ownership for all planning matters in the region, including working with external stakeholders such as appointed planning consultants and Local Authorities, and internal stakeholders, leading on the planning element in Senior Leadership meetings and providing regular updates on existing land holdings and proposed future land purchases. The successful candidate will have significant experience within a similar role in the housebuilding/consultancy industry, with proven experience in planning and land acquisition, strong understanding of the planning process, the NPPF and planning legislation.
