(Magnesium) Process Industry Manufacturing Technician - Apprenticeship (Level 3) 📍 Swinton, Manchester 🕒 Full-time | Apprenticeship (2 years) --- Start Your Career in Manufacturing with Luxfer – Process Industry Manufacturing Technician Apprentice (Magnesium) Luxfer is looking for a motivated, hands‑on individual to join our team as a Magnesium Manufacturing Apprentice at our Manchester site.
This is an excellent opportunity to begin a long‑term career in manufacturing, gaining real workplace experience while studying towards a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification .
1. --- About the Role As a Magnesium manufacturing Apprentice, you will learn how to safely operate, maintain, and improve industrial manufacturing processes .
You’ll rotate through different areas of the operation, working alongside experienced colleagues to develop practical skills and technical knowledge.
You will play an active role in day‑to‑day operations, learning to use and understand a wide range of plant equipment, while supporting high‑quality magnesium production, and ensuring safety remains the top priority at all times .
2. --- What You’ll Be Doing Operating and monitoring manufacturing plant and equipment Supporting the production of high‑quality magnesium products Identifying and reporting faults, defects, or safety concerns Assisting with basic maintenance activities and equipment checks Preparing equipment for maintenance and shutdowns Completing production records and documentation accurately Taking part in shift handovers and team communication Supporting continuous improvement activities, including 5S and Lean --- What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who: Has a genuine interest in how things work and enjoys hands‑on tasks Is committed to working safely and following procedures Is a strong team player with good communication skills Is keen to learn and develop new skills Is reliable, punctual, and well‑organised Can problem‑solve and pay attention to detail --- Training & Development You will complete a Level 3 Process Industry Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship .
Duration: 2 years Structured learning: Typically 1 day per week (online learning with occasional in‑person sessions) On‑the‑job training: Supported by experienced mentors This apprenticeship is designed to give you the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to build a successful and lasting career in manufacturing.
