About the role

Due to continued growth within our Regional Civils business, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated General Foreman to support the delivery of a highways project in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established team working on essential infrastructure works within a collaborative, safety-focused, and high-performing environment.
As General Foreman, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day site activities, coordinating operational delivery, and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme. Working closely with the Site Agent, Project Manager, engineers, and subcontractors, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards across all aspects of delivery while driving productivity and team performance on site.
What you'll be doing
As a General Foreman you will:
* Leading day-to-day site operations on highways and civil engineering works
* Supervising site teams and subcontractors
* Ensuring all works are carried out in line with programme, quality, and safety requirements
* Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager with delivery activities
* Conducting site briefings, inspections, and toolbox talks
* Monitoring progress and helping resolve operational issues
* Promoting a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across site.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
* Previous experience working as a General Foreman within highways or civil engineering projects
* Strong understanding of highways construction and site operations
* Ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple activities on site
* Good communication and organisational skills
* SMSTS or SSSTS certification
* CSCS card
* First Aid qualification desirable.
