The Opportunity
Were looking for a Plant Manager to take full ownership of site operations, leading performance, safety and continuous improvement at one of our key locations.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, with the added variety of supporting other plants across Central and East Scotland when required, while being primarily based in Edinburgh.
As Plant Manager, youll lead all aspects of plant operations from production and maintenance to safety, quality and team leadership.Youll be responsible for ensuring the site operates efficiently, safely and in line with business objectives, while driving a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. xsngvjr
What Youll Be Doing
* Leading the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant production
* Embedding a strong Health & Safety culture, aligned with company standards and legislation
* Driving production output, quality and operational performance to meet and exceed targets
* Managing and developing site teams, including recruitment, training and performance management
* Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant efficiency and reduce costs
* Monitoring plant performance and taking corrective action where required
* Managing site budgets, costs and resources to deliver strong financial performance
* Ensuring compliance with quality, environmental and operational standards
* Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers
* Analysing operational data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
* Supporting wider regional operations by providing cover and expertise across other plants in Central & East Scotland
What Youll Bring
* Proven experience in a Plant Manager or similar operational leadership role, ideally within asphalt, aggregates or a heavy industrial environment
* Strong understanding of production, maintenance and plant operations
* Experience managing budgets, KPIs and operational performance
* A strong track record in Health & Safety leadership
* Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability
* Commercial awareness and the ability to balance performance with cost control
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* IT literacy and experience with operational systems
* Flexibility to travel occasionally across Central and East Scotland to support wider operations
