We are seeking a Library Assistant to join our Customer Services Team, based across all libraries.
The library is a key academic support department in the University, providing students and staff with flexible, responsive services which underpin teaching, learning and research.
The Library Customer Service Team is responsible for the effective delivery of all front-line library services through effective engagement with university students and staff, and external visitors to the library. You will lead the development and provision of enquiry services through a variety of channels; face to face, telephone, email, live chat and 24/7 service provision. The team manage the overall circulation of print materials and care for the collection including shelving layout design, re-shelving and stock maintenance. They take day to day oversight of the quality of environment across all the University Libraries and Library Learning Lounges, fostering a welcoming sense of belonging. The Customer Service Team promote and support the use of print material, specialist library equipment, and IT resources such as laptops and printers. They are there to support the student through their journey in the library by delivering excellent customer service.
Please note that working hours for this role are Monday 8:30 - 5pm Tuesday 11am - 7pm, Wednesday 8:30 - 5pm Thursday 8:30 - 5pm and Friday 8:30 - 5pm.
