Offer description

About flō

flō Optics is a rapidly growing, well-funded startup that is transforming the eyewear industry with a proprietary digital platform that 'prints' high-precision lens coatings. Backed by the biggest names in the industry, we are looking for passionate people to help us scale this faster, greener, and highly customizable technology globally.

The Role

flō is seeking a hands-on Machine Operator to join our Customer Support team. In this pivotal operational role, you will manage the daily performance of flō’s industrial printing system at a key customer site in the UK.

This position begins with an intensive 2–3-month training period in Israel, followed by a 9-month relocation to the UK. You will act as the face of flō on-site, ensuring production continuity, performing essential maintenance, and collaborating with our R&D and engineering teams to optimize system performance. Following the initial UK deployment and based on company needs, you will have the option to extend your stay on-site or return to Israel to integrate into our global Customer Support team (or other departments).

Key Responsibilities

· System Operation: Operate and monitor industrial printing equipment to ensure stable production runs and high-quality output.

· Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine calibrations, basic mechanical adjustments, and preventative maintenance tasks.

· On-Site Support & Inventory: Manage hardware and software upgrades, as well as on-site materials and spare parts handling.

· Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for the UK customer regarding administrative tasks, testing schedules, and continuous updates on system activity.

· R&D Collaboration: Participate in daily meetings with the R&D team to provide ongoing field updates, report on system changes, and share insights to improve performance.

· Documentation & Reporting: Log machine performance data and service activities; escalate complex technical issues to the Customer Support Lead.

· Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of operational procedures and technical documentation.

Training & Onboarding

Prior to and during the relocation, you will receive comprehensive training covering:

· Machine operation, calibration, and complex system troubleshooting.

· Collaboration with R&D to master system functionality and materials handling.

· Reporting protocols and professional customer communication.

Requirements

· Technical Background: Hands-on experience with industrial machinery or complex mechanical systems.

· Problem-Solving: Strong ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and technical adjustments.

· Relocation: Full willingness and ability to relocate to the UK for a period of 9 months.

· Communication: Fluent English (mandatory) and fluent Hebrew, with a highly professional presence for a customer-facing environment.

· Mindset: Self-motivated, highly responsible, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

· Preferred Qualifications (Optional): A background as a Practical Engineer, Mechanical Technician, or previous experience in the printing industry is a significant advantage.

At flō, we value technical curiosity and a proactive approach. If you are a hands-on technical professional looking for international experience and the chance to work with cutting-edge industrial tech, we want to hear from you!
