About The Role
In your role as an Activities Co‑ordinator at HC‑One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. Every person who works here understands that our residents are people with their own stories to tell, and you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
As an Activities Co‑ordinator, you will plan and implement activities that delight residents, support the Home Manager in organising essential fundraising events, help residents gain confidence to socialize more effectively, develop new activity ideas based on residents’ hobbies, and engage the care home team in these initiatives – all with a sense of kindness above all else.
Responsibilities
• Plan and run a wide range of activities that cater to the needs and interests of residents.
• Assist the Home Manager with fundraising event planning and execution.
• Encourage and support residents to socialize and participate in community activities.
• Collaborate with staff to integrate activities into daily routines.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere, ensuring all residents feel valued and respected.
Qualifications
• Background working with vulnerable individuals, ideally with experience in developing activity programmes.
• Excellent planning, organisational and IT skills.
• Strong time‑management abilities and a proactive, positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate with residents and co‑workers in a considerate and kind manner.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You must recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and understand the correct response if concerns arise. All staff attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and are required to undertake additional training in associated areas, seek appropriate advice, and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
