Overview
Support for Learning Assistant, Gaelic, Sgoil an Rubha. 27.5 hours per week, term time, fixed term to 12 August 2026. Salary: £18,566 - £19,278 per annum, inclusive of £1,789 Distant Islands Allowance per annum.
The post holder will be required to provide support for children and young people with additional support needs (ASN). Duties include assisting teaching staff to meet education, personal care and welfare needs; undertaking playground/lunchtime supervision; supporting the inclusion of all pupils; supporting health and well-being and following the Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach.
Legal/eligibility: This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement for regulated work with Children.

Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience of working with children, whether as a parent, in a voluntary or professional capacity.
* Understanding of basic needs of children; ability to cooperate and work effectively as part of a team.
* Patient, cheerful, flexible, open and caring approach.
* Fluency in Gaelic is essential for this post.
* PVG scheme membership required (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
Salary and Terms
Salary is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be at the first point of the grade.
