Offer description

Dove Valley Practice is looking torecruit an additional administrative assistant to our team. The successful candidate should bea hardworking, enthusiastic candidate with a good set of interpersonal skills. Youshould be willing to learn and form part of an effective team.

The contract is for 16 hours per week plus any required overtime between7.45am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday.


Main duties of the job

Collating, sorting, summarising and inputting patients' medical summaries onto the computer system.

Liaising with PCSE regarding quality data input.

Conducting searches on SystmOne.

Maintaining the recall system for cytology and entering the relevant codes

Accepting and coding new patients' medical records

Chasing up new patients' records that are incomplete or not received

Organising patient records and filing medical records as necessary.

Scanning hospital results/letters.

Dealing withrequests for copies of medical records.

Practice noticesand leaflets

Stationery stockcontrol

Assisting with medicalstudents

Dealing with referrals, post, pathology results and document management

Friends andfamily test management

Liaising with ITand computer suppliers etc.

Other tasks as appropriate to the role


About us

We are a long-standing practice, providing excellent quality care in the Barnsley area and rated as 'good' by the CQC. At the moment we have 11 GPs, 3 PAs, 1 ACP, as well as other staff who provide a wide range of services at 2 surgery sites

As well as a commitment to excellence in looking after our patients, we are also a teaching and training practice for medical students from the Sheffield Universities and GP trainees from the Barnsley Vocational Training Scheme.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Highly motivated and willing to attend training
* Awareness of accountability of own role and other roles within the Practice
* Experience of Microsoft Office


Experience

* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
* Prepared to work overtime/flexible hours in accordance with the practice needs
* Experience of working in primary care or an NHS setting
