About the Role
A dynamic and nurturing SEN primary school in the L27 area is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 1 with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. This role requires resilience, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping young children thrive in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
*
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN and behavioural needs
*
Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
*
Support learning through play, sensory activities, and structured routines
*
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
*
Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment
Requirements
*
Experience working with SEN children, particularly those with challenging behaviours
*
Knowledge of KS1 curriculum and child development
*
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach
*
Team player with excellent communication skills
*
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
