SEMH Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision (Secondary) Location: Salford, Greater Manchester Rate: £95-£110 per day (dependent on experience) Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Start Date: Immediate Are you driven to support young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, and passionate about helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn? Do you have the patience, resilience, and communication skills to build trust with students who may struggle in mainstream settings as a SEMH Teaching Assistant? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving Alternative Provision in Salford, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This setting supports pupils who have faced challenges in mainstream education and need additional guidance to re-engage with learning. Many students have SEND, including ASC and SEMH, alongside behavioural needs. The Role As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students in lessons and provide targeted 1:1 and small group interventions. You'll work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to help pupils stay engaged, adapt learning where needed, and build confidence both academically and emotionally.
