Job Purpose
To drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and managing relationships with key clients. The Business Development Manager will promote the company's crane hire services, build strong client relationships to develop new business and increase spending with existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
New Business Development
* Identify and pursue new opportunities.
* Prospect and engage with site managers and project leads.
* Attend industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to represent the company.
Account Management
* Manage and grow existing accounts through proactive relationship building and regular site visits.
* Maintain a deep understanding of client requirements, project timelines, and crane hire needs.
* Resolve customer queries efficiently, working closely with the TLS Team.
* Develop and deliver a sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets.
* Work with senior leadership to identify target sectors and growth areas.
* Maintain accurate CRM records and produce regular performance and pipeline reports.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Strong background in business development or sales, preferably within crane hire, plant hire, lifting, or construction services.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Commercially aware with a client-first approach.
* Self-motivated and capable of managing your own workload and territory.
* Comfortable visiting construction sites and engaging with site personnel.
* Competent in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 3–5 years' experience in business development, preferably in crane hire, plant hire, lifting or construction services.
* Valid UK driving licence.
