  • Skyports Drone Services – uses drones to streamline logistics, capture data, and enhance operational efficiency, focusing on rural deliveries, surveying, surveillance, and maritime services.
  • Skyports Infrastructure – designs, builds, owns, and operates vertiports that enable eVTOL operators to take off and land in cities around the world.

The Role:

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Regulatory & Safety Associate to join our expanding regulation/safety team, supporting the Drone Services side of the business.

This role is split into two parts:

  • Regulatory Affairs (primary focus) – support the Regulatory & Safety Manager in the submission and ongoing approval of all global regulatory applications in Skyports Tier 1 target markets and adding new Uncrewed Drone Systems to the ever-expanding Skyports fleet.
  • Safety Management (secondary focus) – support the Safety Manager to assess all safety occurrence reports (ORs) that come into our bespoke safety management system (SMS), investigate the occurrence and manage all cross-departmental associated actions to the ORs natural conclusion. This process will closely follow that stated in Skyports Operations Manual, whilst always adhering to the National Aviation Authorities (NAA) rules & regulations.

This will require close collaboration across all departments (flight operations, technology, commercial & PR). Throughout these responsibilities the ideal candidate will maintain & promote the just culture that is already ingrained throughout the organisation. The role will be UK based whilst working across our operational environments in other countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update all Operations Manual documentation as directed by the relevant Manager.
  • Create and update risk assessments in line with regulatory approvals, including SORA.
  • Support all project safety risk assessments where required.
  • Create safety notice to pilots (NTP), as a result of Skyports Event Review Group (SERG).
  • Support any ongoing airspace change process (ACP) by engaging and consulting with the Skyports Regulations department and affected stakeholders on the safety & operational issues of the proposed project, in compliance with any regulatory defined processes.
  • Perform global audits in line with Skyports global audit program. (ISO 9001 internal audit qualification will be provided for the successful candidate).
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned; reporting to the Head of Safety & Regulatory Compliance.

About You:

  • Recently graduated and/or from an aviation regulatory/safety background. Uncrewed flight experience would be an advantage.
  • Highly proficient and experienced using Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Desirable: Experience using Confluence & Asana.
  • Strong understanding of drone and aviation regulation (EU SORA, UK CAP722 & FAA Part 107).
  • Understanding of a Safety Management System.
  • Able to calmly & professionally chair safety meetings with subject matter experts across the company.
  • Highly proficient at creating well-structured word & PowerPoint documents and presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential. You will be working in a team that moves fast and decisions need to be communicated efficiently, effectively and with direction. You will be given a lot of trust & responsibility from the get-go.
