Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Contract: Fixed Term - Maternity Cover, Term Time only

We are now looking for an experienced Art Teacher to join our close knitted team at The Tower School located in Epping.
About the role
The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning in Art and will have the ability to motivate pupils and develop staff in a team which prides itself as being collaborative and supportive. You will be able to inspire effective teaching and learning within the classroom and beyond as our small school flourishes in the coming years. You will understand the importance of data as a tool to track pupil progress and will identify a wide range of evaluation strategies to lead the development in all aspects its success.
Some of the duties of the Art Teacher will involve planning, delivering and teaching individual pupils or small groups, in accordance with the School's Curriculum framework and related policies, monitor, record and report on pupil progress, work with and manage challenging behaviour, enabling pupils to develop from needing external control, to developing self control, play a full part as a member of the School's multi-professional team, ensuring effective working relationships with colleagues.
Essential:
Teaching up to BTEC Level 2 certificate in Art - teaching across KS3/4/5.
Qualifications Required
QTS
Experience of working in an SEN Educational Setting

The Tower School is an independent special day school for pupils ages 11 – 18 years who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who will often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
This opportunity is based in Epping, Essex, CM16 4BA and is located on Epping High Road within easy access of J26 of the M25 and Junction 5 of the M11. Epping is a lovely market town in Essex and just 17 miles (30km) from the centre of London. It is surrounded by Epping Forest and the River Roding and River Lea valleys. The school is just a 10-minute walk from Epping station on the London Undergrounds central line which will have you in London's West End in under 50 minutes.

At The Tower School, we provide education to young people aged between 11 and 18 who have autism and associated conditions. We strive to deliver a pupil-centred education in a safe, friendly place, where all our young people love to learn.
Set in the town of Epping with easy access to the acres of woodland in Epping Forest, we believe that success in the classroom depends on positive relationships between staff and pupils. Our 'wrap-around' holistic approach to supporting our pupils ensures that all needs are met. Our team are highly trained in trauma-informed approaches, de-escalation, and therapeutic parenting, as well as being reflective practitioners.
With small classes of no more than seven pupils, our school has places for up to 62 young people; teachers can creatively tailor lessons to ensure that all individual learning needs are addressed and met. We can also schedule one-to-one interventions and therapy sessions to meet the broader individual needs of each young person to meet the minimum requirements for each young person's Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
