DESCRIPTION
Amazon, founded in 1995, aims to be the world's most customer-centric company, offering a vast online marketplace. Amazon Logistics is experiencing rapid growth and seeks an experienced, innovative, and customer-obsessed Project Manager. This role involves managing network-wide projects from conception to handover across various sites, including new site launches, dilapidations, and critical engineering and facilities projects. The candidate must possess full UK legal and statutory compliance knowledge to ensure project standards are met and processes are developed and aligned.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and external vendors to develop optimal solutions for Amazon's logistical network, including equipment specifications and fulfillment center layouts.
2. Manage capital projects, including creating conceptual drawings, equipment specifications, and bid documentation for competitive bidding.
3. Monitor on-site installation schedules and vendor quality, ensuring adherence to standards.
4. Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with corporate standards, addressing snagging issues and warranty work.
5. Coordinate between internal departments and MHE vendors across multiple sites.
6. Develop and manage budgets and contracts, including RFPs, change orders, purchase orders, and invoicing.
7. Collaborate with site management for operator training, procedural compliance, and maintenance of MHE equipment.
8. Prepare and track Capex documentation to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
9. Work closely with Real Estate, IT, Process, Software, and Operations teams to ensure project milestones are met.
10. Understand operational processes and daily use of WMS tools.
Basic Qualifications
* B.S. Degree in Engineering or related field.
* Experience in equipment design and layout of mechanical handling, conveyance, or packaging systems.
* Proven leadership in large-scale, complex projects.
* Knowledge of industry practices including Lean Manufacturing.
* Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software.
Preferred Qualifications
* Willingness to travel across the UK based on project needs.
* Ability to design and specify MHE solutions from manual to automated.
* Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Capability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Leadership and technical guidance skills for field teams.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Toyota Manufacturing System.
* Ability to justify and deliver complex capacity solutions.
* Flexibility to switch between strategic and hands-on approaches.
* Experience managing multidisciplinary projects in dynamic environments.
