Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Governance & Board Secretary to provide comprehensive governance, compliance, and advisory support to our Board, Committees, and senior leadership.
This role is critical in ensuring strong governance practices, effective board operations, and full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You will act as a trusted advisor to the Board and CEO, supporting decision-making, accountability, and best practice governance across the organisation
Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain the annual governance calendar, including Board, Committee, Co-Chair/CEO, Oversight Committee, and away day meetings.
* Draft and circulate meeting agendas in consultation with the CEO, Co-Chair(s), and Committee Chairs.
* Attend and support all governance meetings, including taking accurate and professional minutes.
* Collate, format, and distribute Board and Committee papers within agreed timelines using Governance360.
* Prepare, circulate, and track minutes, actions, decisions, and resolutions via Governance360.
* Maintain an up-to-date register of Board decisions, actions, and resolutions.
* Support effective collaboration between the Board and the Youth Management Board.Ensure consistent use of approved templates, systems, and governance resources.Undertake additional governance duties as agreed with the Company.
Requirements
* Self-employed freelance contract (12 months)
* Paid in 12 monthly instalments upon invoice,
* Professional Indemnity Insurance (£150,000 minimum) required
* Proof of right to work in the UK
* NDA required
* Hybrid working with attendance at key meetings
