Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Service Specialist - TIG Welder. The Service Specialist will be responsible for performing TIG welding tasks, maintaining and servicing steel belt machinery, conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with the engineering team to develop customized welding solutions, providing technical support to clients, and documenting service and maintenance activities.
The role involves 90% working on customer sites nationwide through the UK and Ireland and sometimes further afield across Europe.
Qualifications
* Excellent proficiency in TIG Welding techniques (specifically sheet stainless and carbon steel 0.6mm - 3mm thick)
* Experience in servicing and maintaining steel belt machinery
* Skills in troubleshooting mechanical issues
* Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in welding and machinery maintenance
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to work independently and remotely
* Relevant certification or training in welding techniques
* Experience in the manufacturing or steel industry is a plus
* A full (preferably) driving license is required for this position
Training
This is a highly skilled position and whilst many applicants may have an excellent understanding and even proficiency of TIG welding, it is highly unlikely that the quality and workmanship required by our company in this position will be there from the outset. Thus, full training on site and in our specialist training facility in Austria will be provided to the successful applicant to ensure that full accreditation is achieved so that the applicant may become one of a few select individuals in the UK able to perform such specialist works within the steel belt industry sector.
Once full accreditation is achieved - salary progression increases in accordance with skill level and proficiency in industry sectors.
