Your Day-to-Day:
* Responsible for developing design solutions using AutoCAD / Inventor and directing engineers/designers in producing complex design solutions.
* Performing simple calculations and guiding engineers/designers in complex calculations.
* Checking others' work to ensure high standards and compliance with all relevant internal and client procedures.
* Producing technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, and Method Statements.
* Owning design deliverables throughout all project phases, from design to decommissioning, ensuring the Design Intent is maintained.
* Producing and verifying CDM Risk Registers and documentation for Technical Files of new products, plant, and equipment.
* Presenting technical solutions to clients and stakeholders in formal and informal settings, demonstrating broad technical knowledge.
* Presenting at design reviews and HAZOPs.
* Supporting the development of project safety cases, including HAZID and HAZOP attendance, and producing safety documents and engineering justifications.
* Developing estimates, deliverables, and program logic at bid/tender stages, and contributing to cost assessments.
* Managing a team of engineers/designers to meet project engineering scope.
* Mentoring team members to improve skills and enhance company capabilities.
* Building and maintaining relationships with key client or partner contacts.
* Assessing concessions and technical queries.
* Preparing and reviewing quality plans for work packages.
Who You Are:
* Legally eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship now or in the future.
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
* Chartered Member of the IMechE (preferred).
* Knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives applicable to mechanical design.
* Proven experience in mechanical design theories, principles, and practices.
* Experience in producing Technical Files for new products and plant equipment.
* Detailed design knowledge of mechanical mechanisms or bespoke equipment for nuclear applications.
* Familiarity with relevant drawing standards (BS8888, BS5070, BS EN 61082) and experience in the nuclear industry.
