We are recruiting on behalf of a beautiful independent country house hotel and restaurant in Essex for an experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team.

The kitchen is looking for a passionate and reliable Sous Chef who enjoys working with quality ingredients and maintaining high standards within a supportive team environment.
The Role Support the Head Chef with the day to day running of the kitchen
Help lead and motivate the brigade during busy services
Maintain consistently high food quality and presentation standards
Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
Ensure strong food hygiene and kitchen organisation
Support stock control, ordering and GP management
Work across restaurant, weddings and private events operations
The Ideal Candidate Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
Fresh-food background essential
Calm and organised under pressure
Passionate about seasonal ingredients and quality cooking
Strong team player with good communication skills
Reliable, hands-on and professional approach
Driving licence essential due to rural location
